The ICYO (Indonesian Catholic Youth Organization) was formed in 1992. The idea came from a group of parents, Indonesian priests and other young people to cater for the spiritual needs of the youths studying abroad who have the same faith. The first quorum of meeting was conducted at Mosman Park residence of tante Siu and the resolution was passed to form the first and the only Catholic organisation in Western Australia so called the Indonesian Catholic Youth Organisation (ICYO).

The number of members originally started at 5 people with the activities only limited to meeting and gathering. At present, the organisation has grown very fast which has around 65 people and over, which includes active, non-active and life time members.

Present activities in the organisation are very diverse intended to balance the religious and social aspects. For instance the retreats, functions,charity events, sport camps, dinner and dance, gathering, choir, music, Christmas celebrations and so fourth.
